woodblock print, from the series Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido (Tokaido gojusan tsugi no uchi), signed Hiroshige ga, censor's seal kiwame (partially trimmed), published by Takenouchi Magohachi (Hoeido), circa 1833-34


Horizontal oban: 24.9 x 36.2 cm., 9¾ x 14¼ in.

A daimyo procession makes its way up a steep snow-covered path to the 16th century Kameyama castle at the upper right.
