Beauties, famous views and daily life 

Meiji period, late 19th century 


four paintings; ink, colour, gold and gofun on silk, mounted on gold-flecked card, each signed Yoshitoshi, and comprising: 

- Viewing fireworks from a boat in the evening cool, sealed Yoshi and Toshi

- Couple before a full moon, sealed Taiso

- The Wedded Rocks (Meoto iwa) in Futami, sealed Taiso

- An oarsman mooring his boat in rainfall, sealed Yoshi and Toshi
