Shibata Zeshin (1807-1891) 

Five woodblock prints

Meiji period, late 19th century


each a woodblock print, signed Zeshincirca 1890s, and comprising: 

- The Seven Gods of Fortune (Shichifukujin), sealed Tairyukyo

- Dandelion, twigs and towel (tenugui), sealed Reisai

Okame mixing pigments beside a brocade ball, embellished with metallic pigments, sealed Tairyukyo 

- Camelia, plum blossom, books and a writing table (bundai), embellished with light silver-mica, sealed Tairyukyo 

- Bamboo basket, knife and black lacquered cup, sealed Shin


Each a shikishiban: each approx. 24.1 x 24.9 cm., 9½ x 9¾ in.
