Edo period, 18th century


each a woodblock print, sumizuri-e with hand-colouring, circa 1740 


Each horizontal oban: each approx. 27.3 x 36 cm., 10¾ x 14⅛ in.

From a set of twelve designs for the twelve months, each print includes a haiku poem with a seasonal indicator for which month is depicted in each scene.
