Bowmore Black, The Last Cask, 50 Year Old, 41.0 abv 1964
Bottle number 59 of 159, packed into a bespoke presentation case designed by John Galvin. This lot comes with a 20ml miniature bottle containing the same 50 year old Bowmore which is integrated into the back of the wooden presentation case.
This bottle has exceptional provenance having been donated by Beam Suntory, owners of Bowmore Distillery, to Speed Art Museum in Kentucky.
Earlier this year, Sotheby's partenered with Bowmore Distillery to offer the Black Bowmore Archive Cabinet in our Hong Kong auction. It is an honour to be able to offer another coveted Black Bowmore bottle from the Distillery archives.
This 50 Year Old is the oldest of the 1964 Black Bowmore editions and the last to be released from this inimitable tranche of Oloroso sherry casks.
