Description
An English engraved composite part table service, circa 1895
composed of two services, the first spirally moulded engraved in the rock-crystal style with stylized flowers and scrolling foliage, comprising:
a claret jug,
six water jugs,
nine finger bowls and five stands,
twelve champagne coupes,
seven sherry glasses with broad bowls,
nineteen similar sherry glasses with narrow bowls,
fourteen spirit glasses;
and another service similarly engraved with paterae and roundels initialled 'MAW' in bands of vitruvian scrolls, comprising:
three finger bowls and six stands,
three red wine glasses,
twelve white wine glasses,
and eleven sherry glasses.
