urn-form, with acanthus leaf ornament, the two pots with carved ebonised wood handles, engraved 'W' beneath a coronet,

The initial W below a German duke's coronet may be that of Louis Eugene (ruled 1793-1795) or Frederick Eugene (ruled 1795-1797) dukes of Wurttemberg. A wine jug and milk jug by this maker of 1787-1789 is in the Wurttemberg Landesmuseum see: Helmut Seling, Die Augsburger Gold-und Siberschmiede 1529-1868, Munich 2007, no. 2581 (a).
