Description

Before the Fact. A murder story for ladies. London: Victor Gollancz Limited, 1932
FIRST EDITION, 8vo, original black cloth lettered in green, DUST-JACKET, edges slightly soiled, dust-jacket slightly soiled at edges
A good copy of the first edition of the psychological suspense novel that inspired Hitchcock's Suspicion (1941). Along with Cox's other early novels, it was published under the pseudonym Francis Iles and the dust-jacket provides a long list of possible identities, not including the real one.
