"Phoenix" Bookcase

circa 1983

produced by Memphis, Milan

wood, steel, glass, plastic laminate

86 ½ x 86 x 17 ⅜ in. (219.7 x 218.4 x 44.1 cm)

This "Phoenix" Bookcase is one of only four produced by Memphis. Another example of the model was in the collection of Karl Lagerfeld.

Overall in excellent condition. The laminated wood presents with very minor scattered surface scratches, light scuffing and surface soiling consistent with age gentle use. One very minor chip to the edge of one shelf, only visible under close inspection. The steel cylinders with very minor losses of blue paint concentrated to the openings and scattered surface scratches, not visually distracting. The three glass doors are in excellent condition with very light scuffing and surface soiling.
