impressed SALTO, numbered 20810, with blue wave mark and the firm's painted mark
9¾ in. (24.7 cm) high
7½ in. (19 cm) maximum diameter
Overall in very good condition. An impressive example of Salto’s “Sprouting” form, the present vase presents with great scale and a wonderfully dynamic use of the Solfatara glaze. The surface of the work presents with minor irregularities to the ceramic body and in glaze application inherent to the making and to the artist’s practice, including minute pinholes which are common for such works and not visually distracting. The underside with 5 protective felt pads. This lot has been inspected under black light and presents with no apparent evidence of restoration.
