Mother and Daughter

signed

acrylic, watercolor and paper collage on board

12 by 9 in. 30.5 by 22.9 cm.

framed: 22 1/2 by 17 in. 57.2 by 43.2 cm.

Executed in 1986

This work is in very good condition overall. Under very close inspection there is minor evidence of handling and wear to the edges of the collage elements, which have deckled and have irregular edges as a product of the artist’s chosen working method. Although there is very lights lifting throughout, the collaged elements appear to be stable and intact. Under close inspection, a ¾ inch tear is visible on the right edge of the skirt of the left figure. The variations in surface texture and color, concentrated along the lower edge of the composition, are likely inherent to the artist’s chosen medium and working method and from the time of execution. The board support is adhered verso to the backing board. Framed under Plexiglas.
