Self Portrait

signed Kelly (lower right)

graphite on paper

10½ by 8 in.

26.7 by 20.3 cm.

Executed circa 1951.

This work is in very good condition overall. There is evidence of light wear and handling to the sheet, with associated faint creasing. There is a slight undulation to the sheet, inherent to the artist's working method. There are scattered smudge marks, most noticeable on the center left of the sheet, likely inherent to the artist's working method and chosen medium, and a few pinpoint and unobtrusive spot accretions visible along the edges. The sheet is hinged verso to the mat intermittently along the edges. Framed under Plexiglas.

Framed dimensions: 17 ¾ by 14 in. (45.1 by 35.6 cm.)
