8vo (220 x 146 mm). 50 pp., with index at end. Stitched in self-wrappers, woodcut vignette of the seal of Michigan on title-page; some browning and smudging, dampstain to rear wrapper. In a quarter blue morocco slipcase, with folding chemise.
Containing the text of the Michigan state constitution of 1850, with the proposed amendment of 1874, which would extend the right to vote to women. The amendment was not passed, and women's suffrage was not granted until 10 June 1919, when Michigan became the third state to ratify the Nineteenth Amendment.
