Alabama

The Constitution of the State of Alabama. Adopted August 2d, 1819 [bound with] Acts of the General Assembly of the State of Alabama, Passed at Its First Session. Huntsville: Printed by John Boardman, 1819-1820 


2 works in 1 volume, 8vo (212 x 132 mm). Early ownership signatures to title pages; scattered foxing, two faint ink stamps to the preliminary leaves of the latter title (bound first), a few scattered ink notations. Modern tan buckram, red title label to spine; extremities lightly sunned. 


The scarce first printing of the Alabama Constitution, together with the Acts of the first session of the state's General Assembly. This is the only copy we can trace at auction in the last 40 years.
