30,4 x 22,1 cm; 12 x 8¾ in.

Executed on cream wove paper, laid down on cardboard which is affixed to the mount. Collage element is stable. There are a few minor stains in places, most predominately towards the centre of the upper edge and to the collage element. There are a few minor creases to the lower right corner. There is a line of minor abrasion to the upper left-hand side of the window. The sheet is slightly light stained. This work is in overall good condition.

Pierre Le-Tan was 19 years old when The New Yorker published his first cover in 1969. He continued to design covers for the prestigious US magazine throughout the 1970s. This drawing appeared in the US magazine on 18 April 1977. The vertical strip of colour on the left-hand side is a constant feature of his covers for The New Yorker.
