Mathematical Objects

gelatin silver print, framed, 1934-35

image: 11 ⅛ by 8 ¼ in. (28.3 by 21 cm.)

frame: 23 ¾ by 19 ¾ in. (57.8 by 50.2 cm.)

Please note the colors and shades in the online catalogue illustration may vary depending on screen settings. This photograph, on double-weight paper with a surface sheen, is in generally very good condition. There is silvering in the darkest areas of the print, mostly at the periphery. The upper and lower edges appear slightly yellowed. Upon close inspection, a few tiny deposits of original retouching and some fingerprints are visible. There is a small scratch in the upper left quadrant which appears to break the emulsion. Brown adhesive remnants along the upper edge on the reverse suggest this photograph was previously tipped to a mount. 'RMG#183.26' is written in an unidentified hand in pencil on the reverse. When examined under ultraviolet light, this print does not appear to fluoresce.
