Hateruma (from The Pencil of the Sun)

gelatin silver print, signed and dated in pencil on the reverse, 1971, printed in 1973

image: 8 ½ by 12 ½ in. (21.6 by 31.8 cm.)

Please note the colors and shades in the online catalogue illustration may vary depending on screen settings. This early print is in generally excellent condition. When examined in raking light, deposits of original retouching are visible, mostly in the lower portion of the image. There is a soft crescent-shaped crease in the upper left corner which does not break the emulsion. The margin corners are very slightly bumped.
