Please note the colors and shades in the online catalogue illustration may vary depending on screen settings. This print is in generally good condition. There is a yellow/brown stain in the upper margin, possibly a result of processing, which intrudes upon the upper edge of the image very slightly. The upper edge of the image is somewhat yellowed. These appear gray in the illustration online; please contact the Photographs department for detail images of the aforementioned. On the reverse are the following: several dark gray circular stains mostly near the lower edge, possibly a result of processing; a rust-colored stain in the upper right portion; and some soiling overall. These are likely results of the photographer's working process. The annotations in pencil in the photographer's hand read as follows: 'The maximum number of original prints of this image will not exceed 64. Irving Penn.'; 'A number of reproduction copy prints for publication and publicity use may also be made. IP.'; and 'Rives Paper on Aluminum, Multiple coating and printing 1. Platinum 2. Platinum-Palladium.' The copyright stamp is dated '1974' in pencil. The other stamps read 'Deacidified'; and 'Hand-coated by the photographer.' 'L.A.' and 'T' are written in an unidentified hand in pencil.
