Description

Futuristy

Dokhlaya luna [The Croaked Moon]. Moscow: Vesna, 1914

8vo (235 x 185mm.), second edition, 19 coloured etched plates and 3 other text illustrations by the Burliuks, original printed wrappers, wrappers repaired at backstrip

The first edition was published in 1913, but this enlarged 1914 edition is not an exact reprint, as the editor, Shershenevich, rearranged and altered the text and illustrations, inserting his own work earlier in the volume to give it more prominence at the expense of other items. Apart from the Burliuks, other contributors were Bolshakov, Kamensky, Kruchenykh, Livshits, Mayakovsky and Khlebnikov.
