Launched at SIHH 2014, the Radiomir 1940 Chronograph was offered in white gold and pink gold, limited to 100 pieces each. A further platinum version limited to 50 pieces was introduced as well, making the present example the rarest of them all. It bears an elegant white dial, with a painstakingly detailed tachymeter, housed in a spectacularly finished platinum case. The beautiful caliber OP XXV can be observed through the sapphire crystal display back, which was based on the Minerva 13-22 movement developed in the 1920s. Paying tribute to their extensive history collaborating with the Italian Royal Navy, the present watch is a true combination of Panerai's watchmaking heritage and modern technology.
