Qing dynasty, 17th-18th century
finely carved standing in a defiant posture, dressed in a loose robe decorated with a dragon amongst swirling clouds chasing a pearl, his round face with benevolent smile, surmounted by a helmet, grasping the hem of his robe in his hands revealing a richly gilt armour underneath, wood stand

Overall the figure is in good condition with some surface wear consistent with age. There is some rubbing to the polychrome enamels, more particularly along the bottom edge and on the hem and belt of the robe. Some retouching to the painted areas. There is a shallow chip polished behind the left side of the helmet's cresting with later red repaint. The wood base is associated to the figure.
