Conceived in 1895-96 and cast in bronze by the foundry Alexis Rudier between 1927 and 1945 in an edition of at least 6 examples; this example cast in bronze in 1927.


This work will be included in the forthcoming Catalogue Critique de l'oeuvre sculpté d'Auguste Rodin being currently prepared by Galerie Brame & Lorenceau under the direction of Jérôme Le Blay under the archive number 2021-6312B.

Conçu en 1895-96 et fondu en bronze par la fonderie Alexis Rudier entre 1927 et 1945 dans une édition d'au moins 6 exemplaires, cette épreuve fondue en bronze en 1927.

Dark brown patina. There is some minor wear to the patina to the most protruding elements and along the extreme edges. There is some superficial dust in the crevices associated with a few dots of verdigris. This work is in overall very good condition.
