An inscribed famille-rose 'scholar' vase

Qing dynasty, 19th century

with a lobed globular body supported on a raised foot, a waisted neck an upturned petalled rim, moulded with alternating famille rose panels enclosing landscape and calligraphy and reserved on a blue and white ground of ruyi, the neck decorated with lotus and bats suspending a longevity character shou and collared with a blue and white lotus band, the mouth rim simulating the petals of a flower in iron red, the base inscribed with an apocryphal Qianlong reign mark
