Qing dynasty, 18th-19th century

deftly carved around the exterior with a continuous mountainous landscape detailed with scholars crossing over a bridge or gathering in a pavilion, and further boats cruising on a river with islands and mountains in the distance, the densely grained wood patinated to a rich reddish brown colour
