Von Ankunfft unnd Ursprung des Römischen Reichs [with Florus's Epitome; translated by Zacharias Müntzer]. (Strassburg: Theodosius Rihel, 1587)

folio (325 x 209mm.), title printed in red and black within a woodcut border, woodcut initials and illustrations, woodcut printer's device below colophon, without final blank, contemporary blind-stamped pigskin over wooden boards by Hans Lietz (active in Augsburg, 1588-1629), panel stamp of the Crucifixion on upper cover and the Resurrection on lower cover, lettered in ink on spine, two clasps, occasional light browning

The illustrations were designed by Tobias Stimmer, who produced other woodblocks for Theodosius Rihel (including for Müntzer's translation of Josephus), and cut by Christoffel van Sichem and Christoph Stimmer. Müntzer's German version was first published in 1568; this is a reprint of Rihel's first illustrated edition from 1574.
