mahogany, rosewood, gilt bronze
30 x 43 x 26 ½ in. (76.2 x 109.2 x 67.3 cm)
Overall in very good condition. The wooden surfaces appear to have been sensitively refinished at some point in its history to revitalize the rich quality of the mahogany and rosewood. The wood with scattered surface scratches throughout and minute indentations concentrated to the edges and consistent with gentle use. The legs present with small hairline cracks that have been selectively stabilized at some point in the history of the piece, the largest measuring 1 ½ in. and not visually distracting. The inner curve of one leg appears to have been sensitively restored at some point in the history of the piece and is stable overall. The gilt bronze mounts with some light oxidation throughout, consistent with age, and small surface irregularities inherent in the making. The table is offered with a later glass top in excellent condition, with light surface scratches throughout and four protective rubber pads applied to the underside. The table with protective felt pads applied to the underside of each foot.
