the case of break-front form and surmounted by an engraved glass celestial sphere above further faceted glass finials and pillars, the whole veneered in red shell part silvered and decorated with scrolls and mounted with semi-precious stones and turned ivory, the later associated 4¼-inch silvered dial engraved and painted with foliate scrolls, (hands replaced), the short-duration movement with standing barrels and verge escapement, trip-repeat rack striking on a bell
