An impressive matched set of eight Vintage crocodile skin cases in graduated sizes

first quarter 20th century


the largest of square form and with carrying handles to each side, the next with a fitted interior and gilt-tooled 'Drew & Sons / Makers / Piccadilly Circus / London' and stamped 'A. J. Gainsford / Sheffield' to the front; the next with a brown silk interior by Darnbrough & Sons Ltd, Middlesborough and gilt-tooled 'S.A.H.' to the lid; the next with a gold-coloured silk lined interior, the silver-metal locks stamped 'British Made'; the next with a claret coloured silk interior, the brass locks stamped 'Made in England'; a small dressing case with a caramel coloured silk interior, the locks stamped 'Patent 132.194' and 'English Lever'; a small attache case, locked; and a further small attache case, with a leather lined interior (8)
