A tortoiseshell boîte-à-miniature with gilt-metal mounts, possibly German, late 18th century and later
rectangular, the lid inset with a later gouache miniature of Danae and the shower of gold, under a domed cover, the tortoiseshell sides and base decorated in a geometrial pattern
