A collection of gentlemens travelling accessories

late 19th/early 20th century


comprising; A Victorian black leather despatch box by Wickwar & Co., London, with a brass carrying handle to the hinged side, the cover with inset brass handle and gilt-tooled with the Crown, Royal cypher of Queen Victoria and 'D. of L.', the interior stamped 'Wickwar & Co. / 6 Poland Street' and 'Manufacturers to HM Stat. Office'; A Napoleon III embossed black paper and wood case with a suede lined interior containing a brass chamberstick, with screw top to hollow cast cannister handle, the lid with carrying handles and with brass catches; An Edwardian leather dressing case, retailed by Asprey's, the cream leather interior fitted with five silver topped glass vessels, marked London, 1904, the tortoiseshell accessories including two rectangular containers, a cylindrical container, a handmirror, paperknife, hairbrush and clothes brush; a leather 'Gladstone' bag, the striped linen interior with an applied tooled leather label for Asprey (4)
