A gilt-metal mounted hardstone figure of an eagle, late 20th century
naturalistically carved as an eagle spreading its wings, with diamond-set eyes and mounted with a gold beak and engraved gold talons, detachable from a massive shaped rock-crystal base; and a gilt-metal eagle mounted on a dark hardstone base, apparently unmarked apart from later control mark
larger 20cm., 8in. high and smaller 15cm. 6in. high

Please note that Sotheby’s have fixed an old repair and have had the tail on the lapis lazuli eagle correctly attached the right way up. Additional images are available on request as those currently illustrated online show the old repair with the tail feathers incorrectly attached.
