bears old attribution on the verso along left edge, in pencil: Théodore Géricault

The drawing was contained in an album with fourteen landscapes, portraits and compositions, by 19th century artists, including Vernet, Pinelli and Lami, the binding dating from circa 1830 and bearing the interlaced initials: JHC [?] on the back cover. The page on which the present drawing was placed bears the inscription in brown ink: Théodore Géricault 1817 and brown ink framing lines;
