Ikepod was founded in 1994 by Oliver Ike and famed designer Mark Newson. The company was among the early adopters of large and round case shapes, a trend which was new to the market in the 1990s. The watches were made in Switzerland until 2017, where the company was acquired by three Swiss investors.

Ikepod relaunched in 2018, with Swiss designer Emmanuel Gueit (who designed the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore in 1993) at the creative helm.

The present platinum Hemipode Dual-Time was released in a limited edition of only 10 pieces. The timepiece boasts the trademark Newson design, blending the silver tones of platinum with a matte grey dial. The chronograph complication is furthermore affixed with an additional 24-hour timezone indicator, set by an independant pusher at 7 o'clock.

This seldom seen piece stands in exceptional condition and will surely be an exotic addition to a solid chronograph collection.
