The GMT-Master II reference 16710 stayed in production until around 2007, making this watch one of the last ones produced. During this period this reference went through substantial changes, such as changing from Tritium dials to Super Luminova dials.

This watch features the so-called and sought-after stick dial. This dial is most easily distinguishable through the way the II has been printed. The usual Roman 'II' of GMT Master II is replaced by two 'sticks', hence the nickname.
