In 1989, Omega celebrated the Apollo XI mission’s 20th anniversary with the launch of a commemorative limited edition Speedmaster. Three variants could be found, each corresponding to a specific market and differentiated by the special engraving they would bear to the case band. The 2000 watches for the USA mention “xxxx/2000” or “xxxx/2000 APOLLO XI 1969” while the 250 pieces for Germany display “xxx/250 APOLLO XI 1969 – 1989”. The present one displays the “APOLLO XI 1969” script with no mention of the limited edition number, associating to the batch of 4’000 examples for the rest of the world.
