The present Blancpain triple calendar in yellow gold embodies the clean design language of the brand since its relaunch by Jean Claude Biver and Jacques Piguet in the 1980s. Originally founded in 1735, it is considered the oldest surviving watchband in the world. The manufacture is famous for never having produced quartz watches and intends to keep it this way, which is quite remarkable as almost all big brands have produced some quartz watches starting in the 70s and 80s when the Swiss watch industry was hit by the Quartz Crisis.
