Case: The case is in overall good condition with superficial scratches and scuffing throughout. Previous polish in our view. Bracelet in very good condition with superficial scratches and light wear.


Dial: The dial is in overall very good condition. Hands and indexes with light oxidation. A faint scratch between 4-6 o'clock.


Movement: The battery is running at the time of cataloguing however will require periodic replacement in the future. Sotheby's may not guarantee the life of the current battery. The movement is running at time of cataloging, however it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. The ref. 3838 was launched in 1982, originally for men, but the size today is a perfect fit for a man or a woman. Made in 18K yellow and white gold, and available on a strap or with numerous integrated bracelet options, this quartz watch featured the caliber E27. When launched, this bracelet version retailed for 14,500 CHF.
