Master clocks were made by Patek Philippe in the 1970s and 1980s and represent the most cutting edge technology of the era. Subsidiary clocks were wired to these technological marvels and timing systems were able to display timing to the 100th of the second throughout complexes such as factories, train stations and airports. Even Vatican City has a master timing system in place, made by Patek Philippe of course.
