The present lot is an exceedingly rare example of the Patek Philippe reference 4020. In fact, it is the first example to appear for years on the international auction market.
The unusual elongated shape of the silvered dial is decorated with two rows of precious stones. The inner one is made of brilliant-cut diamonds while the second one consists in 32 sapphires. These become gradually larger on the sides to accentuate the shape of the dial.
The watch is further enhanced by the calibrated sapphire-set bracelet which reminds the ever popular tennis bracelet and which is confirmed by the Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives. The junction between the case and the bracelet is beautifully made through the short diamond-set lugs.
This lot is an exciting opportunity for a collector looking to acquire both a rare and elegant timepiece from Patek Philippe.
