Produced from 1952 to 1956 in yellow, pink and white gold, the reference 2532 is a rare watch in today's market. Considered large for its time, collectors nicknamed the reference the "Grande Calatrava", as the watch is encased in a 34mm case and features striking angular lugs.
The timepiece is powered by the traditional manual winding calibre 12-400 featuring the Geneva Hallmark, considered the ultimate benchmark in quality and finishing.
The present example features a silvered dial with applied yellow gold indexes and matching dauphine hands. The watch is engraved to the back with the King of Iraq's coat of arms, adding to its Royal provenance.
One of less than 200 pieces ever produced during its 4 year life-span and one of approximately 20 coming back to the market, the present lot is rare by definition and boasts a truly interesting provenance.
