Launched only recently in 2012, the Rolex Sky-Dweller is among the newest additions in the Rolex catalogue. Originally solely sold in precious metals, it was later released in two-tone and finally in stainless steel with a white gold bezel in 2017. The innovative dual time annual calendar displays the GMT in the traditional way, with the second time zone indicated via a rotating 24hr disk in the center of the dial, and a red triangle designating the time. In additional to this dual time zone function, the Sky Dweller displays the date via an aperture at 3 and the month via one of 12 windows above each hour marker to indicate the month. This innovative and unusual display system received 11 patents, and quickly became a collectors and travelers favorite.
