Château d'Yquem 1948

Sauternes, 1er Grand Cru Classé

u. ts, label badly soiled and faded, short worn and soiled vintage embossed metal capsule, vintage embossed cork

At a wonderful dinner in New York in 2015, very kind friends produced this complete showstopper. All the candied fruits on the nose, with no volatility and then an explosion of orange crème caramel on the palate, finishing with a taste of bananas. Ravishing wine. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
