The stylistic ink wash paintings of Ah Chung have always enchanted the people of Hong Kong; the wit, incisiveness, and humour in his works give people a knowing smile all the time.

"Ah Chung created a diverse oeuvre", Mr. Bernard Yim, the son of Ah Chung, said, "And he took the beautiful day scene of Victoria Habour as the subject matter of this illustration. Through the vivid colour in the work, I hope the public can feel Ah Chung's joy and passion for painting and Hong Kong."

Born in 1933, Ah Chung is probably the most beloved artist in Hong Kong. He mocked himself as lacking knowledge and ambition to become a dragon (a successful person); therefore, he could only live like a worm (which is the literal meaning of his name). To him, a dragon must be formidable and powerful while merely a fine dew on a leaf can serve as a feast for a worm.

He is known for watercolour painting captioned with meaningful mottos that are either thought-provoking or mind soothing. The flowers, birds, insects, fishes, ordinary people, philosophers, and monks have been accompanying the readers and relieving them from the heaviness of reality.

In August 2018, Ah Chung passed away peacefully in his dream at his home in Los Angeles, USA.

阿虫的水墨小品別具一格，一直為香港人所鍾愛，時而精闢睿智，時而幽默，教人會心微笑。

阿虫兒子嚴嘉華先生表示：「阿虫作品眾多，這幅作品以風和日麗的維多利亞港為題材，用色鮮明，希望大家從中感受到阿虫作畫時的快樂和對香港的熱愛。」

阿虫生於1933年，可能是香港最受歡迎的畫家。自嘲讀書不多、胸無大志、處事糊塗，肯定不是做龍的材料，只好做虫。他認為做虫有做虫的好處，龍要氣吞山河，但一點葉上的露水，已是虫的盛宴。

作品以水墨為媒介，配以時而發人深省、時而令人抒懷的字句，畫中的花鳥虫魚、市井人物、哲人高僧，一直陪伴讀者，紓解沉重的現實生活。

2018年8月，阿虫在美國洛彬磯家中，於夢中安然離世。
