Shen Jingdong designed this set of two skateboards with his usual sense of humour and witty quality. He deliberately defaced the skateboard, leaving the surfaces with scratches. The uneven edges break the skateboards from their typical form. The ordinary smiley face implicitly reveals the artist's vibrant and childlike artistic characteristics.

Born in Nanjing, Jiangsu in 1965, Shen Jingdong graduated from the Nanjing Xiaozhuang Normal School and Nanjing Arts Institute in 1984 and 1991 respectively. Majored in printmaking, he was awarded the Liu Haisu Scholarship. He worked at the Military Drama Troupe of Nanjing Military Area after graduation. In 2010, he settled in Songzhuang Art Colony. In 2014, he was appointed as the Dean of the Oil Painting Academy at China Academy of Contemporary Art. His artworks have been exhibited in various places in China, Japan, South Korea, the United States, Europe, etc.

沈敬東以其一貫率性詼諧的風格，設計出此一組兩件的作品。畫家刻意破壞滑板，滑板表面滿佈劃痕，邊緣參差不齊，以突破素材的框架；常見的哈哈笑臉，隱約又帶有畫家畫筆下角色的神韻，色彩繽紛，充滿童趣。

沈敬東1965年生於江蘇南京。1984年畢業於南京曉莊師範學校美術班。1991年畢業於南京藝術學院美術系版畫專業，獲劉海粟獎學金。畢業後在南京軍區政治部前線文工團從事舞臺美術工作。2010年入住宋莊藝術區。2014年任中國當代美術研究院油畫院院長。作品先後在中國各地、日本、韓國、美國、歐洲等地展出。
