LA FORTE CHANTEUSE

signed lower left: J.F. Raffaëlli

oil on paper laid down on panel

panel: 17 ¾ by 28 ⅛ in.; 45 by 71 cm

framed: 25 ¼ by 35 ¾ in.; 84 by 91 cm

We would like to thank Brame & Lorenceau for confirming the authenticity of this work which will be included in its digital catalouge critique on the artist now in preparation.

Oil on paper laid down on cradled panel. There are pinholes visible at upper left and lower right. A few very minor losses at the extreme edges of the work, not visible in the current framing. There is a minor, 1 inch repair in the background above the right figure’s outstretched arm. Under UV light, the varnish fluoresces green and is difficult to read through, though there is some brushy fluorescence around the male figure's feet.
