signed in Cyrillic lower right

oil on canvas

58 1/4 by 28 1/2 in.; 148 by 72.4 cm

framed: 61 1/4 by 31 5/8 in.; 156 by 80.3 cm

The canvas is unlined. Undulations throughout, most notably toward the corners. Stretcher bar marks along all four edges. The canvas has been re-stretched previously. A crease running along the right edge shows the location where the edge was previously tacked. There are pinholes, accretions, and abrasions in this part of the canvas. A few minor losses along the left edge. Under UV light: a few pindot areas of retouching in the dark background to the right side of the figure's head and one pindot spot of retouching in the red area of the figure's uniform near proper left shoulder. A few possible areas of retouching along the right edge and the lower right edge. The work is in fair condition.
