240 glass slides (visible images approximately 55 x 70mm.), each mounted within frame (average 82 x 82mm.), many with hand-written paper label captions, housed in 3 wooden boxes, and one leather and card box, approximately 5 cracked slides
A good collection showing travels and missionary work in Congo, Uganda, Kenya, Bechuanaland (Botswana) Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) and South Africa by George Washington Wilson and others.
Box 1. 78 slides, mainly of Central Africa and the Lake Regions, with photographic portraits of Samuel Baker, John Hanning Speke, Henry Morton Stanley and David Livingstone.
Box 2. 54 slides of Uganda, Kenya, Rhodesia & Bechuanaland, with reference to Stanley and Livingstone (includes Blantyre).
Box 3. 44 slides of Congo. Locations include, Ikoko, Bangandanga, Baringa & Ifumi. Sitters include a Mr. and Mrs. Padfield and W.D. Armstrong.
Box 4. 64 slides of travels in Kenya.
