Pile varies from approx. 3mm in lower border to areas of wear to foundation particularly in upper half of field, as visible in illustration. Some repiling in upper edge of plain madder surround, most particularly top right hand corner, now faded to a light rose pink. Knotted fringes with some losses to fringe tails but largely extant. Lower end similar with small scattered spots of repiling, judging from size and distribution probably repairs to old moth damage. Taupe browns generally worn and oxidized to foundation. Centre of upper border with extensive wear. Attractive soft coral open ground with elegant, spacious drawing, attractive wide border.
