FIRST COLLECTED EDITION, folio (560 x 373mm.), descriptive letterpress text to the "basso relievo" and plates 1-21 (in English and French) on 7 leaves, 76 engraved sheets of plates by R. Dalton, J. Basire, J. Mason and others (6 folding or double-page), contemporary half calf, lacking title and one plate (man making rope), slightly soiled and stained, occasional tears, rubbed, rebacked retaining most of original spine and recornered
THE ATABEY COPY. This work was published in various formats over a considerable number of years (c.1752 to 1791) for which Atabey gives a chronological description. This copy seems to incorporate some elements of the 1781 edition.
