Deborah Hay in Hammock

gelatin silver print

Sheet: 17 by 14 in. (43.2 by 35.5 cm.)

Framed: 25⅛ by 21¾ in. (63.8 by 55.3 cm.)

Executed circa 1969.

This work is in good condition overall. The sheet is cornered to the backing board. The sheet is is overall gently rippled and there is overall soiling to the reverse. The margin is lightly soiled and there is wear to the edges of the sheet, not visible when framed. There are scattered soft creases throughout, visible under raking light and upon close inspection. There is a very sharp crease that runs the length of the print, which appears to break the emulsion. There is another 5 inch crease at the right lower edge of the print that appears to break the emulsion. There is a 1 inch jigsaw shaped scratch at the center right edge that appears to break the emulsion. Framed under Plexiglas.
